Privacy Policy
This is the working privacy policy for polling-platform. It will be replaced by an attorney-reviewed version before any production launch. The content here describes how the system actually works today.
What we collect
At signup: name, ZIP code, age band, AND either an email address (if you choose email signup) or a mobile phone number (if you choose phone signup). After signup, you can optionally add the other — verified — from your profile settings. After signup, your survey responses (web or AI-voice). For voice calls, we keep a transcript and the duration of each call.
How we use it
Your email is used for transactional account messages (login, password reset, account changes) and never for survey invitations. Your verified phone number, if you provide and verify one, is used to send SMS survey invitations and (with your separate consent) to place AI-voice survey calls. We only contact verified phones — providing a phone without verifying it does not authorize contact. Your demographic fields (ZIP, age band) are used for sample stratification — we publish aggregate breakouts, never your individual response tied to identity.
What we publish
Every survey result is public and aggregated. We never publish individual responses tied to identity. We do not sell, trade, or share panel data with third parties for marketing, and we do not share individual responses with any campaign, PAC, or government agency.
Consent & revocation
You consented to SMS and AI-voice contact at signup. You can revoke either consent at any time:
- Reply STOP to any text we send
- Say "stop" or press 9 during any AI-voice call
- Visit /opt-out for the full menu
Consent record
We keep an append-only record of your consent — the verbatim text you saw, the version, the date, your IP and user-agent — for legal recordkeeping. We never edit this record. See engineering-principles.md § threat model.
